This Week's Excitement...

...in words this time, no pictures or videos!

1. I met my cooperating teacher after school on Tuesday! She is great. I feel a lot better about student teaching after meeting her, but seeing the school and her classroom started making me nervous as well. She teaches 3 honors English 9 classes (freshman) and is the student council adviser, which is also a class. I will completely take over the English classes and help out some in the student council class. (Planning winter formal, pep rallies and prom!) She gave me access to the district's standards, which are all broken down by grade and quarter, so I know what I will be teaching already. I'll teach the books Anthem and 1984 and the big project for the second semester is a research paper. (100 of those to grade should be fun...) I'm going to spend the next few weeks getting started on reviewing my notes from college teaching classes and re-reading the books.

2. The heat is back on. I am sure you were all very worried about us being cold out here.

3. The lil market I like to go to gave me a free canvas bag when I was shopping yesterday. I think I will iron on my name with the extra letters from my Rolly Pollies shirt creation project. Also, I discovered their inexpensive brand of 2% milk cheese. Small things make me very happy.

4. This weekend is baking Christmas cookies weekend. I am going to this share Christmas cookies and wine event on Monday night with girls in the area. It was from a meet up group online. I feel a lil like I'm online dating for friends, but will hopefully make some regardless.

5. We grilled out last night. Turkey burgers! I think Rob likes hamburgers better still, but I was pleased. Hooray for grilling in mid-December. It's still a lil strange and sometimes I feel like I need snow, but it passes quickly.

6. This is not so much excitement, but a nice way to wrap this list up before it really starts to border on uninteresting. We are extending an invitation to anyone who would like to be in Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl. If you can afford a game and plane ticket, your lodging is on us! :) And we have the most fantastic air mattress....!

Hope all is well with everyone! Thank you again for the comments...I get e-mail notifications when someone leaves a comment and am super excited when I see one :) Love, Sarah and Rob

Hi guys
thanks for the updates! Nothing new here - except Nolan decorated the Christmas tree!! It can't compare to yours.

Congrats, Sarah, on your job - thought you were talking about Rob when you mentioned Rollie Pollies!!!!

Looking forward to seeing you at Christmas.

(This blogspot is now in my favorites, so I will visit often!)

Love ya,
Aunt Sue

Hi Sarah and Rob. It is rainy and cold and dreary here today. Bailey was home by himself while Grandpa served the poor at St. Paul's church. I worked the bake sale at our church from 8-1. We are now resting and doing nothing.

Your decorations sound great! Bring pictures, if you can. Hope the cookie baking was fun and successful. I had trouble with the cookie press when making the Christmas wreaths. So we only have a few.

Can't wait to see you and spend some time with you both. Stay well and come soon!

Love from G&G and Bailey to you both.
